WAEC: Student tests positive for COVID-19 in A’ Ibom

File: Students Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom on Monday said that a student writing the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examination in the state had tested positive for COVID-19. Emmanuel who made the disclosure in a media chat in Uyo, did not mentioned the name of the student and the school involved. The governor said the student had asymptomatic situation, adding that he took normal precautions to avoid spread. He however said the state government had begun random testing of students for the virus in secondary schools across the state. “We have tested over 100 students and it is only one young man that tested positive for COVID-19 in the state,” the governor said. “We did what we ought to do medically; I want to believe that by now, the young man should be okay,” he said. Sultan Of Sokoto Visits El-Rufai Over Southern Kaduna Security Challenges

  The Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar on Monday paid a private visit to Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State. COVID-19: Jigawa Govt releases N90m for child nutrition

By Aliyu Dangida – Dutse Jigawa state government has released a whopping sum of N90 million for the fight against child malnutrition in the state amidst of Coronavirus pandemic. The state Nutrition officer, Mr. Saidu Umar confirmed this in Dutse, said out of the fund the state government had on June this year released the sum of N80 million to UNICEF as counterpart funding for the purchase of Ready to- Use Therapeutic Food ( RUTF) used for the treatment of acute severe malnutrition. Mr. Saidu added that N10 million was also released for the take-off of Masaki project designed to promote Infants and Young Child Nutrition as a preventive measure against child malnutrition. Angry reactions trail killing of IPOB members in Enugu

Angry reactions have started trailing the reported killing of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Enugu. All the respondents, who spoke to Vanguard in Owerri, were unanimous in their belief that the dead were first Ndigbo before being members of IPOB. They also described the incident as “senseless and condemnable, especially as IPOB members are usually unarmed”. Reacting, an Owerri based legal practitioner, Mr Aloy Ejimakor, said the wrong branding of the dead was deceptive and a diversionary tactic to simply write off the dead as IPOB members, instead of Ndigbo. His words: “Forget IPOB. They are Ndigbo. It is completely deceptive and a diversionary tactic to simply write off the dead as IPOB members, instead of Ndigbo. FG Begins Evacuation Of Stranded Nigerians In China
